Is the Snoo Worth It? Honest and unbiased UK Twin Mum Review

Why we splurged

When we found out we were having twins, we were elated… and terrified.

Between knowing they’d likely be premature, the constant “double trouble!” comments, and the very real question of how are you going to manage? — we knew this wasn’t going to be easy.

We had no hired help, and very occasional daytime support from family. So while so much felt out of our control, I wanted to give us the best possible chance with the things we could control — and sleep was a big one.

Like most parents who have ever Googled “baby sleep”, I quickly came across the Snoo. And like most people, I clicked through… and gasped at the price.

But after a lot of thought, we decided to go for it. Here’s my honest, non-sponsored review — what it does, what worked, what didn’t, and whether I think it was worth it.

What the Snoo actually does

The Snoo is a responsive bassinet that soothes your baby using gentle rocking and white noise.

Your baby is placed in a specially designed swaddle, which safely clips into the bassinet to keep them sleeping on their back. The Snoo then responds to fussing by gradually increasing the level of movement and sound to help settle them.

I’ll be honest — on the higher settings it can look quite intense! We kept ours locked on lower levels, which felt more than enough.

There’s also a “weaning mode” designed to help your baby transition to a regular cot.

We didn’t end up using that feature — we travelled abroad when the twins were 5 months old and had to go cold turkey into cots (combined with jet lag… not our finest moment). But within a couple of weeks, they adapted well and now sleep 11 hours uninterrupted.

The biggest benefit (for us)

The Snoo didn’t just help our babies sleep — it helped them learn to sleep independently.

By 5.5 months, both twins were consistently sleeping 7pm–6am.

To be clear: the Snoo doesn’t get all the credit.

We also:

  • followed a very consistent feeding routine from birth and sleep routine from around 4 months

  • formula fed (which helped keep them full)

  • focused on good sleep hygiene (dark room, quiet, consistent temperature)

But what the Snoo really did was bridge the gap — helping them fall asleep and re-settle without needing to be picked up.

And with twins, that wasn’t just helpful — it was essential as I couldn’t hold, feed or rock both to sleep at once.

Pros

  • It genuinely worked — both babies slept well from early on and became great long-term sleepers

  • Hands-free settling — especially important when you physically can’t pick up both babies at once

  • App control — you can adjust settings and track sleep patterns from your phone

  • Safety reassurance — babies are secured on their backs with no loose bedding

  • Flexible swaddles — designed for arms in or out as your baby grows

  • Optional extras — we used leg lifters for reflux, which helped

  • Customer support & warranty — reassuring given the investment (though we didn’t need to use it)

Cons

  • You’ll probably need extra sheets and swaddles
You only get one of each size, which isn’t ideal for middle-of-the-night leaks or spit-ups

  • Getting baby into it can be fiddly
Especially when they’re already asleep (and you really don’t want to wake them…)

  • A bit admin-heavy with twins
For example, we had to register each Snoo under separate email addresses

  • Not ideal for very small or premature babies straight away
We waited until ours were around 5lb before using it

  • Adjustment period if introduced later
Babies already used to a still cot may take time to adapt

  • And yes — the price
(Though I actually don’t consider this a true “con”… see below)

How we made it more affordable

This is the key part if you’re on the fence.

The Snoo regularly goes on sale — we bought ours at 30% off, paying £800 instead of £1,145. Top tip is you can order during a sale and select a future shipping date close to when the baby is born…I ordered ours in February and had them delivered 5 months later.

When we finished with them, we sold both on Facebook Marketplace for £600 each. So they cost us £200 per Snoo. I recommend keeping the boxes, all packing etc to facilitate resale.

For something we used every single day (and night) for 5 months — and which arguably saved our sanity — that felt more than reasonable.

Other ways to reduce cost:

  • buy during sales + resell

  • use for more than one baby

  • rent instead of buying (only available in some countries)

Things to think about before buying

The Snoo isn’t for everyone, it depends on your parenting approach.

It might not be right if:

  • you plan to co-sleep

  • you prefer a completely still sleep environment and don’t want to rely on technology for sleep

One practical tip:
Have your next cot set up from the start.

We kept one in the sitting room, where the twins could nap, do tummy time, and gradually get used to it. It made the eventual transition much easier.

Final verdict: was it worth it?

For us — absolutely.

It worked, our twins slept brilliantly, and it made a very intense period of life feel more manageable.

Would I recommend it to everyone? No.

But if you’re:

  • nervous about sleep

  • expecting twins

  • or just want more hands-free support in those early months

…it’s definitely worth considering.
